Nursery and Reception
Teacher: Mrs Lowe
Teaching Assistants: Miss Upton and Mrs McCracken
PE Days: Thursday and Friday. Please send children to school in their PE kit on these days.
Reading at home
Children will have reading books to bring home. Pupils will have a phonics book that matches the sounds taught in school, and a book for pleasure that the children will choose themselves to encourage a love for reading. We strongly encourage the reading of the books on a daily basis to support pupils to develop the skills of blending needed to be able to read with fluency and comprehension. Homework
Homework will be set on a Friday and is due to be completed by the following Wednesday. Year 1s will have assignments set on both Maths Shed and Spelling Shed as well as an additional piece of work that supports another area of the curriculum. Reception children are encouraged to practice the phonics sounds that they have been taught as well as any additional work assigned

Communication:
We will be using ‘Seesaw’ as a tool for communication between school and home. Children will be able to access their homework and any instructions that go with it. The children can post their homework back to me to be commented upon or marked.
Parents you are welcome (and encouraged), to share information with me about the adventures and activities that the children get up to at home. We really enjoy sharing these as a class.
